When Weight Loss Stops, Try This.

All right. So you've lost weight. The scale has gone down, but for some reason, the scale has stopped going down. It's very confusing, and it can be very frustrating.

It happens all the time. You're not alone.

I have many people coming into my practice every week to find out why they can’t lose any more weight.  They tell me that they have tried Keto, they’ve tried Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Noom, MyFitnessPal, Adkins.  They’ve tried working out—the scale was going down. Now it stopped.

They can't lose any more weight, and they want to know what is going on or what they are doing wrong.

If this story resonates with you, then listen up. I have some tips for you to start losing weight again and to get the scale to start going down once again.

I'm Dr. Ian Rainey, the founder of Zoomloss, and I want to help you lose weight and reach your health and weight loss goals. So now let’s get to work and get that scale moving again.

Not Eating Enough Food Can Slow Your Weight Loss

The number one thing I see is that people are not eating enough and when you don't eat enough, your body goes, “Whoa, time out! I don't have enough resources to survive. There's a famine coming. So I better slow down my metabolism and prepare for this famine so we can get through it and survive.”  Now, as a result, your body slows down your metabolism. It starts to use muscle for its fuel source, and it starts storing fat. This is bad news.

Eating Unhealthy Foods Can Stale The Scale

A lot of people are eating unhealthy foods, even though they think their foods are healthy, you know, and I'm not going to go into what's healthy food and what's not healthy food.

There's so much available information on the internet. You might have to find out what's best for you. For example, some people are doing keto, and they say, “It's great. I'm going to lose weight.” And then they find out that their gallbladder doesn't like processing all the fat. There are different diets for different people. And you need to make sure that you're doing one that is going to compliment your body type and your composition.

Not Tracking Your Food

Another thing that I see is people are not tracking what they're eating. If you use a food journal for a few days and you look at what you actually ate, you're going to see sugars and chemicals in the majority of those foods.

You're going to see preservatives. You're going to see refined junk that is going to make your body gain weight. Believe me. This is a powerful test. Another thing I see is that people are not consuming enough protein.

You need to be able to build good lean muscle. And if you're not getting enough protein, your body will not build that muscle or maintain that muscle.

Drinking Your Calories Can Lead To A Weight Loss Plateau

Another thing that causes you to see the scale stop is when you drink your calories. You go get that smoothie full of sweet strawberry deliciousness.  Of course, the smoothie place tells you it has a lot of protein and it is gluten-free.

Unfortunately, they forget to tell you that you're getting a lot of sugar in there as well. And if you don't use that sugar up in two hours, you're going to store it as fat. So make sure you do not drink your calories.

Sleep Can Affect Your Ability To Continue To Lose Weight

Another thing that must be addressed is sleep. If you're not sleeping, you must correct your sleep pattern to maintain an ideal weight. This is very important. If you're not getting enough quality sleep, you'll find that you cannot lose weight or maintain an ideal weight.

The list goes on and on. I could talk forever. There are thousands and thousands of things that stop people from losing weight.

We have helped thousands of men and women get started on their journey of losing weight and/or getting healthy through Zoomloss. Zoomloss takes the guesswork out of dieting and helps you develop something magical that’s customized for your body type and lifestyle.

Holiday weight gain is a daunting thought for many people. From work parties to family gatherings, temptation is everywhere. It is easy to slip into old habits and put goals on the back burner. Holidays tend to encourage overeating and the consumption of high calorie foods. On average, adults in Western societies gain one pound between the months of November and January. This might not seem like much, but for some people, that can add up throughout the years. If left unaddressed, it can become harder to lose that weight. Nonetheless, it is 100% possible to stay on track during the holidays. Here are some tips to help support your health journey this holiday season.

Many weight loss programs advertise rapid weight loss, but how do you know what's safe and what's not? Rapid weight loss could be detrimental to your health or counterproductive to your weight loss goals. There are many reasons you shouldn't try to shed pounds too quickly. When you lose weight too fast, it can lead to nutrient deficiencies and weight gain later on. Additionally, your body will start to store fat at an accelerated rate in response to the sudden drop in calories. That means that when you stop dieting, the pounds will return even faster than they went away! Being under the supervision of a trained weight loss doctor can ensure that you're losing at a healthy rate and being monitored during your weight loss journey every step of the way.

If you have arthritis, you may be concerned about your weight. Many people believe they can't lose weight if they have arthritis. This is not true! Arthritis inhibits some people from exercising due to pain and stiffness. Weight loss actually helps to reduce arthritis symptoms because as you lose weight, less strain is being put on your joints. Diet also plays a part. It's important to eat an anti-inflammatory diet to elevate discomfort associated with arthritis.

If you've been working out for several weeks and you're not losing weight, it's possible that you're gaining muscle instead of fat. When your body needs more calories than your diet provides, it turns to your fat stores for energy. The more energy your body needs to draw from the fat stores, the more weight you lose.

Weight gain and fatigue are common and go hand in hand. If you’re tired all the time, it can be hard to get motivated to exercise or eat healthier. It might not be a motivation issue, though. It might be your hormones and adrenal glands. A lot of people ask if they can lose weight without exercise, and the answer is yes. But there are some things to consider before you decide to do it.
