Doctor Supported Weight Loss

Zoomloss

What is the best weight loss program for me?

With all the different types of weight loss programs out there, it can be very difficult to know which one to choose.

Calorie Counting Weight Loss Programs

Noom is great for people who are motivated by technology. At its heart, the program is a calorie-counting program. With these types of plans, your body goes into a restrictive state. If you have any underlying health issues that are causing weight problems, calorie-programs will fail, or maintaining weight loss will be difficult.

Other calorie-counting diets include Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, and Nutrisystem. While these do have their place, unfortunately, many people find these programs don’t work because there is an underlying health issue that needs to be addressed.

Exercise Weight Loss Programs

Beachbody is another good program for people who want to work out to lose weight. The driving force behind the program is daily exercise. With these types of programs, you need to burn more calories than you take in. Again, if you have underlying health issues, you may be doing more harm than good. Also, if you aren’t a natural athlete, staying motivated by an exercise heavy program might not be right for you.

Keto Weight Loss Programs

Keto is a program that deprives the body of carbohydrates for fuel. Instead, the body uses ketone bodies for energy. It has helped many people lose weight, but it is difficult to sustain, and the high amount of fat intake can cause serious health issues for many people who have gallbladder issues or difficulty digesting fats.  As a rule of thumb, the keto diet lacks the variety of a balanced diet. This means it lacks important nutrients, minerals and phytonutrients that are imperative for energy, vitality.

What All These Programs Have In Common

None of these weight loss programs start with a medical consultation. And medical issues may account for the majority of your initial success, failure, or inability to maintain a healthy weight.

Some common issues that prevent weight loss are hypothyroidism, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), leaky gut, fatty liver, fibromyalgia, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, iron deficiency, various forms of anemia, nutrient deficiencies, including thiamine, riboflavin, B12 (hydroxycobalamin), vitamin D deficiency, mineral deficiencies, diminished detoxification pathway capability, etc.

Your personal circumstances make your weight loss journey successful or dooms you to failure. This is because you try solutions without ever understanding the problem.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to weight loss. We take a customized approach to make sure that your weight loss program is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and we will make it affordable for you.

The key to losing weight is understanding what works for you. Whether you want to lose 10 pounds or 100 pounds, Zoomloss can help you achieve your goals.

Holiday weight gain is a daunting thought for many people. From work parties to family gatherings, temptation is everywhere. It is easy to slip into old habits and put goals on the back burner. Holidays tend to encourage overeating and the consumption of high calorie foods. On average, adults in Western societies gain one pound between the months of November and January. This might not seem like much, but for some people, that can add up throughout the years. If left unaddressed, it can become harder to lose that weight. Nonetheless, it is 100% possible to stay on track during the holidays. Here are some tips to help support your health journey this holiday season.

Many weight loss programs advertise rapid weight loss, but how do you know what's safe and what's not? Rapid weight loss could be detrimental to your health or counterproductive to your weight loss goals. There are many reasons you shouldn't try to shed pounds too quickly. When you lose weight too fast, it can lead to nutrient deficiencies and weight gain later on. Additionally, your body will start to store fat at an accelerated rate in response to the sudden drop in calories. That means that when you stop dieting, the pounds will return even faster than they went away! Being under the supervision of a trained weight loss doctor can ensure that you're losing at a healthy rate and being monitored during your weight loss journey every step of the way.

If you have arthritis, you may be concerned about your weight. Many people believe they can't lose weight if they have arthritis. This is not true! Arthritis inhibits some people from exercising due to pain and stiffness. Weight loss actually helps to reduce arthritis symptoms because as you lose weight, less strain is being put on your joints. Diet also plays a part. It's important to eat an anti-inflammatory diet to elevate discomfort associated with arthritis.

If you've been working out for several weeks and you're not losing weight, it's possible that you're gaining muscle instead of fat. When your body needs more calories than your diet provides, it turns to your fat stores for energy. The more energy your body needs to draw from the fat stores, the more weight you lose.

Weight gain and fatigue are common and go hand in hand. If you’re tired all the time, it can be hard to get motivated to exercise or eat healthier. It might not be a motivation issue, though. It might be your hormones and adrenal glands. A lot of people ask if they can lose weight without exercise, and the answer is yes. But there are some things to consider before you decide to do it.
